What can the Infant
Child Monitoring Project offer you?
- Its free to ALL children (ages Birth to 3 years) who are
living in Whitman County
- Help monitor infant or young child’s development in the
areas of communication, motor, social, problem-solving, and self-help skills.
- Provide information about typical development and
activities that you can do with your child to promote healthy growth and
development.
- Detect any areas of concern early on so that intervention
services, if indicated, can begin early and can be of maximum benefit to your
child.
- Provide "peace of mind" about your child’s development.
How does it
work?
- Contact Early Learning Services to
enroll your child in the monitoring project.
- You will be mailed the "Ages &
Stages" Questionnaire that most closely matches your child’s current age.
- Complete the questionnaire items
with your child on your own- or if you prefer, a child development
professional will come to your home.
- Trained staff then score the
completed questionnaire and you are provided feedback about your child’s
developmental progress.
- If a concern is indicated in any
area of development, you will be contacted to discuss appropriate early
intervention services-if you so choose.
