WELCOME TO
EARLY LEARNING SERVICES!
Our goal is to provide the environment and services essential for the optimum development of each child we serve. Parents are our partners in assuring that their child is appropriately nurtured and challenged.
Early Learning Services preschool and childcare is a program of Palouse Industries, a private, non-profit agency whose mission is to provide opportunities for social and economic community participation to individuals with disabilities throughout Whitman and Latah Counties.
In 1969, a group of concerned parents began the Epton Preschool to provide special services to their children with disabilities. The program provided speech and motor therapies to young children, and relied heavily on volunteer support. As special services became mandated by federal laws, funding sources supported the development of new program options for families and their children. Epton Preschool was renamed Early Learning Services in 1986.
In 1997, Early Learning Services expanded programming to include full day child care services to meet the diverse needs of all young children in our communities. Our mission is to provide early childhood education, care, and development of age appropriate skills to children in the Whitman County area.
Early Learning Services (ELS) is
licensed by Washington State Office of Child Care Policy as a child care for
children ages 1- 7 years and is registered as a Non-Public Agency with the
Washington State Office of Superintendent for Public Instruction. All Palouse
Industries programs are accredited by Rehabilitation Services Accreditation
Systems. Quality assurance measures are built into contracts with Pullman School
District, Washington State Infant Toddler Early Intervention Program, DSHS
Division of Developmental Disabilities, and Whitman County Developmental
Services Board.
